Last Snowshoeing of the Season!!

It has definitely been quite some time since I’ve done any new blog posts, but I’m back and ready for the summer travel and hiking season!! Well, now that we’ve recovered from the Fourth of July, I figured it’s time to add some new material.  My last snowshoeing trip of the season was in April.  I can’t believe I’m talking about SNOWSHOEING after the Fourth of July!!! Can you believe it?? I sure as heck can’t!!! But I am!! My last snowshoeing was with my fearless outdoor and hiking pal, Ronn Fieldhouse.  We decided to visit the Royal Gorge Cross Country Area, which is in Soda Springs, up in the Sierra Nevadas.  Just a short drive away from Truckee and Lake Tahoe.  I had heard of Royal Gorge and drove past it a few times, but never had the opportunity to check it out, though it was definitely on my list of places to snowshoe at.  There was still quite a bit of snow on ground, as it was early April when we went, and the weather was nice that day!! Perfect day to go snowshoeing!! Let’s take a look:

Different options to the Summit Station: the easy way (Yuba/Wells Fargo), or the hard way (Mirkwood)! Can’t remember which trail we ended up taking!!

There’s water….but don’t get too close and fall in!!

Well, there you have it: my final snowshoeing trip from this season!! I hope you enjoyed the tour, and I hope it got you inspired and geared up for next snowshoeing season.  Yes, I know it’s after the 4th of July, but it’s never too late to start to think about it.  Hope everyone is having a good summer so far.  Can’t believe it’s halfway over already!! Where does the time go?? As always, I hope you enjoyed your visit, and I’m always open to comments and questions.

Cheers until next time,

Rickey

I have been browsing online more than three hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It is pretty worth enough for me. Personally, if all website owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the net will be a lot more useful than ever before.
